Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on RADAR-AD

The worldwide COVID-19 pandemic will inevitably impact the RADAR-AD project. Our project management team is monitoring the situation closely and is in contact with IMI, the funder of the project.

In line with measures taken by local governments, the start of the clinical study of RADAR-AD has been postponed to later this year. Postponing the start of the study will help to reduce traffic to and from the hospitals by staff and research participants. This will help to halt the spread of the virus, and helps in protecting our staff and participants.

Many members of the RADAR-AD team are currently working from home and performing tasks that can be fulfilled remotely. This sometimes requires shifts in activities, such as a prioritisation of writing and/or programming work (which can be done relatively easy from home), and the change of face-to-face meetings to virtual ones. We are actively exploring how we can ensure the progression of the project, and a swift start of the clinical study once the situation around COVID-19 improves. Participants ready to enrol in the study have been informed personally about the postponement of the study start. The safety and well-being of our study participants and our staff will always be our highest priority.

If you have specific questions about the way we handle the present situation around the Covid-19 pandemic, please do not hesitate to contact us. You can send general questions to info@radar-ad.org. For future study participants, please contact your local study managers.
